PrimeXBT Unveils Cent-Denominated MT5 Account for Beginners
Abstract:PrimeXBT has launched an MT5 Cent Account denominated in US cents, targeting beginners and risk-conscious traders with scaled-down lot sizes and up to 1:1000 leverage across forex, commodities, and crypto CFDs.

PrimeXBT, the Saint Lucia-based multi-asset broker, has expanded its MetaTrader 5 lineup with a Cent Account aimed at traders who want to experience live markets without committing large sums. The account, announced on August 11, 2026, lets users trade in US cents rather than dollars, shrinking the financial exposure on every position.
The move fills a gap between demo accounts and standard live trading, a transition that PrimeXBT's Senior Market Analyst Jonatan Randin described as one of the biggest psychological hurdles traders face.
How the Cent Account Works
A Cent Account functions like a standard MT5 account but displays balances in US cents (USC). A $10 deposit appears as 1,000 USC inside the MT5 platform, while the client's Personal Area continues to show the balance in US dollars for clarity. Lot sizes are scaled down accordingly: one lot on the Cent Account equals roughly 0.01 of a Standard lot, or 100,000 cents.
This structure means traders can open positions with far smaller monetary value than a Standard account would require, letting them test strategies or build confidence under real market conditions with limited downside.
What Traders Can Access
The Cent Account supports leverage of up to 1:1000 and grants access to Forex Majors and Minors, Gold, Silver, and Bitcoin and Ethereum CFDs. Swap-free functionality is available, and eligible bonus programs apply under the same terms as PrimeXBT's other MT5 account types.
The account is designed for three groups: beginners taking their first steps beyond a demo environment, risk-conscious traders who want to cap their exposure, and experienced traders road-testing new strategies before scaling up.
Completing the MT5 Lineup
The Cent Account joins PrimeXBT's existing MT5 roster of Standard, ZeroStop, and Pro accounts. The broker, which has operated since 2018 and serves clients in more than 150 countries, now offers a progression path that starts with cent-denominated trading and scales through to professional-grade accounts.
“A Cent Account provides a practical next step by allowing traders to experience real market conditions while keeping position sizes smaller,” Randin said. “As traders gain confidence and experience, they can naturally progress through PrimeXBT's MT5 account offering as their trading needs evolve.”
What Beginners Should Keep in Mind
Cent accounts lower the dollar cost of each trade, but the underlying market risks remain unchanged. Leverage of up to 1:1000 can amplify losses just as it can magnify gains, and cent-denominated balances do not eliminate the possibility of losing the entire deposit. Traders new to live markets should treat a Cent Account as a learning tool rather than a guarantee of safer outcomes, and consider starting with the smallest position sizes the platform allows while they learn how leverage and volatility interact in real time.
