Reason for this visit

Despite being in a small scale, New Zealands forex market is relatively efficient, with gradually declining spread trading. The comparatively low intraday trading volume in the market is largely made during the London and New York session. Forex brokers in New Zealand are required to be licensed and regulated by the central bank, which demands that brokers should provide adequate risk disclosure and investor education. In recent years, smaller local brokers have faced competitive pressure from foreign brokers, with the rapid development of trading automation and mobile trading. In order to help investors or practitioners gain a more comprehensive understanding of the country's forex brokers, WikiFX survey team decides to go to New Zealand for on-site visits to local companies.

On-site visit

In this issue, the survey team went to New Zealand to visit forex broker RockGlobal as planned according to its regulatory address that Level 2-22 Fanshawe Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010.

A seasoned and professional inspection team, committed to safeguarding investor interests, conducted a meticulously planned on-site verification of the forex broker RockGlobal at 22 Fanshawe Street in central Auckland.

22 Fanshawe Street is located in the core area of Auckland CBD, surrounded by dense commercial high-rises and financial institutions, making it a prime downtown location. The subject building is a multi-story office tower with distinctive “GroupM” signage on its exterior facade, initially indicating it as GroupM's headquarters or a related corporate building. The modern structure features glass curtain walls and automated access control at its entrance, consistent with high-end commercial properties.

During on-site verification, investigators successfully entered the building lobby and observed several notable details. The GroupM corporate logo was prominently displayed in the lobby, where the reception area was equipped with digital display screens and a printed directory. A review of the directory showed that Level 2 housed tenants including Insight NZ, MEA, Margules Groome and Cranleigh Partners, but contained no mention of RockGlobal or Rockfort Markets Limited. Despite their absence from the building directory, investigators attempted to locate additional clues through floor guides or temporary signage, but found no references to the broker.

Proceeding to Level 2 for further verification, investigators found the floor configured with a combination of open-plan work areas and private offices. The corridor was lined with nameplates of various companies, all matching those listed in the directory (including Insight NZ and others). A thorough check of office signage and interior markings confirmed all tenants corresponded with the directory listings, with no evidence of RockGlobal or Rockfort Markets Limited's presence.

Although public areas on the floor were freely accessible, inquiries made at reception desks of neighboring companies revealed that RockGlobal did not maintain offices there, with no staff members having knowledge of the company. Building management further confirmed that Level 2 contained no shared workspace facilities (such as WeWork-style arrangements), with all spaces occupied by independently leased corporate tenants.

Through an on-site investigation, it is confirmed that RockGlobal does not have a physical presence at the place.

Conclusion

The survey team went to New Zealand to visit forex broker RockGlobal as scheduled, but did not find the company at its regulatory address. It indicates that the broker does not have a physical business office or it just utilizes the address solely for registration purposes. Accordingly, investors are advised to make a sensible decision following much deliberation.
