Ultima Markets has announced changes to its trading conditions, with leverage of up to 1:2000 now available across selected account types and regions. The move places increased attention on the role of leverage in retail trading, particularly given the potential for higher exposure with relatively small amounts of capital.
The updated conditions cover several account categories, each with different commission structures and instrument availability. Standard and ECN accounts provide access to more than 250 instruments across areas including currency pairs, equity indices, commodities and share contracts for difference. Cent accounts have a more limited selection of instruments. The broker lists a minimum deposit of USD 20 across the account types.
Trading is supported through MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, a WebTrader platform and mobile applications. Ultima Markets also states that leverage may be adjusted under its risk management policies, including during periods of increased market volatility or around major economic announcements. Such changes can affect the amount of exposure available to traders and may vary according to account and market conditions.
The announcement follows the broker's introduction of Copy Trading Pro, a service that allows users to replicate trades made by other traders, with a stated minimum deposit of USD 50. Together, the two developments reflect the broader range of trading features and account options currently being offered to retail clients.
The implications may be particularly relevant for Malaysian traders using offshore trading platforms. Local regulatory requirements and investor protections can differ from those available through domestic providers, depending on where a broker is licensed and which legal entity holds a client's account.
Traders should therefore verify the applicable regulatory status, understand which entity they are contracting with and review the terms governing deposits, withdrawals, margin requirements and dispute resolution through the free WikiFX platform before committing funds.
